We are just a little over an hour from Portland, ten minutes from Hood River, and a stone’s throw from the quaint town of White Salmon on the Washington side of the Columbia River! After spending 10 years making wine in the Willamette Valley, Thane Hawkins set out to forge a new path on Underwood Mountain in the Columbia Gorge National Scenic Area, a region of unparalleled beauty similar in climate to Alsace.
Our vineyard on Underwood Mountain is perched at 1,400 feet, overlooking the Columbia River Gorge. Tucked between the majestic peaks of Mount Hood to the south and Mount Adams to the north, this unique location experiences a distinct microclimate shaped by wind, water, soil, and sun. These towering volcanoes, along with our northern latitude, significantly influence our winemaking style and techniques, resulting in wines that are lower in alcohol, higher in acidity, offering balanced ripeness and a refreshing crispness.
For over a decade we have been producing small lot, age worthy wines sourced from some of the most recognized vineyards in Oregon and Washington. Our handcrafted wines are built to last, and we don’t try and hide the wines’ earthy nuances with overly oaked treatments or excess fining and filtering. We recognize that every vintage is unique, and that those differences should be celebrated rather than blended and hidden for the sake of uniformity.
Club Cuvée is a different kind of wine club, in which our four and six bottle members get to choose their wines from any of our current releases. Club Cuvée is truly wine your way!

I tend to book things pretty far out, and ended up taking a reservation that later turned out to be a little earlier than the winery decided to have their summer hours, but the owner made sure to have staff there and let us come to our reservation anyway. I felt like a celebrity who booked the place out, lol. The drive to the winery is gorgeous, and the view on their patio is just breathtaking. The staff was so incredibly friendly and took theor time to answer my questions and generally have a nice social chat with us. We brought a packed lunch and absolutely enjoyed pairing the wines with our cheeses we brought. Every wine I tasted was really fresh and bright and well crafted. We especially liked the Grenache, which made me grateful that we did the black label tasting so we got to try it.
